POLICY OF THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA PERTAINING TO RECOGNITIONS GRANTED BY CHURCHES, SYNAGOGUES AND OTHER RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS
PREAMBLE
The Boy Scouts of America recognizes that the religious emblems program with which it is identified is in fact a number of separate programs
developed by the respective churches, synagogues, temples, mosques and religious organizations for use along with the Boy Scout program. Therefore, it is not the prerogative of the Boy Scouts of America to approve either the programs of
the churches, synagogues, temples, mosques or other religious organizations, or the recognitions granted by them to those who have met the requirements of these programs. It is, however, the responsibility of the Boy Scouts of America to
establish guidelines for the design and wear of these emblems which are affixed to the Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Explorer and Leader uniforms. Toward this end the following policy statement has been prepared.
GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS
1. All designs for badges, medals, etc. developed by churches, synagogues and other religious organizations must be submitted to the Boy Scouts of America through the
